LONGWOOD GARDENS ENGAGEMENT SESSION

Many couples chose Longwood Gardens for their engagment pictures for good reasons: you can go there any season of the year, it’s big enough that you can have a big variety of pictures and you can stay there afterward and have a relaxing day.

Fadeke called me and asked me if I can photographer their engagement pictures. She wanted a combination of modern and traditional looks. As you will see from the images, later on they changed in their traditional Nigerian attire. At some point, somebody asked us if we are shooting a commercial since they saw the couple in different clothes.

We walked around and had a lot of fun. I hope you enjoy the pictures just as much as I enjoyed taking them.

HIKING TRIP

Last week you met my younger son. This week you will meet my older one. At some point in every man’s life, you need to learn two very important skills: directions (yes, ladies, that’s why we don’t stop for directions) and fire making (although not so important after … well, stone age).

I decided that a hiking trip will help with those two tasks (quality time with my son would be a bonus). Pennsylvania has many state game lands and the Appalachian trail goes trough many of them. Of course, you need the right tools …

Walking up towards the peak of the mountain. Well, since it was his first hiking trip (and let’s just say that I’m not in top condition anymore), we went on a not so high and steep one …

Waiting for dad … errr, posing for the camera …

Once we got to the top, we got down to business

An essential skill … starting the fire with a flint

On our way back (my favorite part of the trip)

We stopped at Cabela’s on our way back home. If you are an outdoor enthusiast, you have to stop by and see it. It’s a really cool place and the kids will enjoy it too.

What better way to end this trip than with an … Elk burger.

Thank you for coming along.

PIZZA PARTY!

Like any proud parent, I try to take as many pictures as I can of my kids. They are growing way too fast and I want to capture those memories for the rest of my life (and theirs). One thing that I love about my job: it allows me to spend time with my two boys. During the week, I have a couple of days where it’s just me and my little dude. He is very entertaining and makes my day soo much more enjoyable.

Who can resist those eyes???

LUCIEN’S MANOR WEDDING – ITUNU & TOPE

Where do I begin? This has to be one of the biggest weddings I’ve photographed to date (12 hours long, 10 flower girls, over 300 guests…). You can also see Itunu & Tope’s engagement session here.

Ceremony – Christian Ministries
Venue/Caterer – Lucien’s Manor
Video – Creative Video Editing Films

We started at the Hilton hotel in Newark DE where both Itunu and Tope got ready.

I’ve photographed Nigerian weddings before, but I never had the chance to see a full ceremony. It was 2 hours long and full of traditions. There was so much dancing and singing that I was wondering if the party already started. Such an amazing experience.

You didn’t believe me when I told you there were 10 flower girls? Well, here they are … I loved the expressions as they were introduced.

Later in the evening, the couple and bridal party changed into their traditional costumes.

And, in closing, a juicy image of the wonderful couple.

Itunu & Tope, thank you for allowing me to capture this special day and for the wonderful experience of your traditions.

BOAT HOUSE ROW ENGAGEMENT – JEANINE & DAVID

Third time is the charm. After 2 postponements, we were able to finally go out and have some fun doing an e-session (remember the 100 degrees heat with the 100% humidity?; yeah, not good for outdoor pictures).

We started around the Waterworks area and walked down the Boat House Row. Here are some pictures for your enjoyment.

While we were taking pictures, people were looking on (for good reason with such a fun and good looking couple). Two lovely ladies on a bench even asked if we did a movie. That inspired the following image: David checking out Jeanine passing by …

Come back later this year to check out their wedding images …. Jeanine and David, I am looking forward to photographing your wedding.
