FASHION WEEK, NEW YORK 2011 – PART II

All the preparations that you saw last week were for the unveiling of the fall jewelry collection from Erickson Beamon (Vicki Beamon and Karen Erickson). Normally you wouldn’t expect ballerinas, opera singers and violinists to a such event. They were present at this exquisite showcasing of the spectacular necklaces, masks and accessories (some were already commissioned by Lady Gaga; I guess the next step is to arrange a photoshoot with Lady Gaga … one can only hope 🙂 ). Stephen Petronio choreographed the girls from the Russian American Foundation’s Bolshoi Ballet Academy Youth Program. They struck poses in tune with the serenade by the tenor Jeffrey Palmer from the Metropolitan Opera and the violinist Tim Fain (the man behind the Black Swan’s score). The arrangement reminded me of the great Irving Penn’s 1947 Ballet Theater photograph …

The girls getting ready …

This is what the guests saw and enjoyed when they entered …

Throughout the Milk Studios were different showcasings. It had an open feel to it and you could walk between the rooms and enjoy different shows …

Once again, thank you UNITE and Paradis European Salon & Spa for allowing me to be part of this beautiful event.
