PHILADELPHIA CAR SHOW - 2011

PHILADELPHIA CAR SHOW – 2011

As you know, every year I go with my son to the car show … it’s a guy thing 🙂

This year’s notable cars for the American manufacturers was the Chevy Volt. I wonder how long it will be until we all charge our cars instead of filling up …

… Or you can still get the muscle car ….

While over the past years the design of the American cars improved and looks a lot better, the design and finesse of European cars is unmatched …

The sexy Aston Martin …

The way this Porsche RS was smiling at me, I think she liked me … and the feeling is mutual :-). If you are looking for a sexy sedan, Panamera is the new 4 door model from Porsche … or you can go with the beautiful Jaguar.

The attention to detail of the European cars is amazing …

For those with big bank accounts, Bentley and Rolls Royce is the culmination of craftsmanship, design and luxury …

If you don’t have big pockets or the fuel price increase is scaring you (or need a key-chain for your Rolls ..), Mini Cooper and Smart are a great choice …

Another area of the show was dedicated to modifications of stock cars. You want to have your wedding/event at your house … forget about the DJ … you can pimp-up your car … OK, not a replacement for your DJ, but it was pretty cool to see the work these guys did.

And it’s not limited only to your car …

And last but not least, some beautiful antique cars. Even at about 100 years old, this car is still a sexy one …

One thing that had me scratch my head was the $59k Hyundai. It looked really nice (although it seemed that they “borrowed” a lot from Mercedes, if you ask me) but the BMW Gran Turismo ( a beefed up 5 series) is $59k. Who in the right mind will pay $58k for a Hyundai when you can get a BMW for just a grand more? .. it’s a rhetorical question 🙂

Until next year …
